Sifnos and Milos, the true Cycladic Islands

25 May – 03 June 2018

Evocative landscapes, lively traditions and a relaxed atmosphere on the island of balance and harmony.
Sifnos stands out for both its architecture and natural beauty, which gave the island, since ancient times, the reputation of being wealthy because of its resources of gold and silver. The towns and villages are defined by well-taken-care-of narrow streets with their whitewashed courtyards, the deep colours of the bougainvilleas and the finely crafted terracotta chimney tops on the roofs. Today the island combines the picturesque with a rich tradition in cuisine and crafts. A unique network of trails some 200 kilometres in all, was created to meet the needs of the agricultural way of life and the tending of livestock. Some of these trails have a history dating back as far back as the 3 millennium BCE. Nowadays, they still lead the winding way to churches, beaches, through wonderful landscapes, used by local people and visiting hikers alike. Sifnos retains a low profile that instils peacefulness to every visitor.

Exotic beauty and unique natural treasures that are unlike any you’ve ever seen before!
Milos is the island where the famous statue of Aphrodite of Milos was discovered. Volcanic rocks paint the beaches red, pink and orange. Sarakiniko and Leftist, with their white rock formations, emerald green waters and caves eroded by the sea, are steeped in stories of pirates. The catacombs, the exotic beaches, the ancient port of Milos now has a row of colourful cave-like structures that are used to store boats. When the sun finally dips into the sea, watch the boats on the Aegean. Nearby, is charming Plaka, the capital of Milos built in 1800 from the ancient stones of the castle. Stroll through the picturesque alleyways with the may inviting restaurants and quaint cafes.
